To schedule please call or text Sharon at 919-427-3611.
Please do not wear any makeup when you arrive for your appointment. To begin the treatment, we will cleanse your skin and use DermaplanePro AHA/BHA Skin Prep Solution to remove any remaining makeup or residue from previous cleansers. This solution contains Salicylic and Lactic acids that will exfoliate the skin. During the analysis stage, we will tweeze any coarse hairs. For better results, we will apply Nourishe Dermaplaning Oil. Our team will wear gloves during the dermaplaning and extraction process. After that, we will use the NuPeel Enzyme to remove any remaining dead skin cells that were loosened during the dermaplaning process. We will remove the enzyme with a warm steam towel after 30 seconds. If necessary, we will perform extractions. To complete the treatment, we will apply serum(s), eye cream, moisturizer, and sunscreen. The results of this treatment are soft and beautiful, and we recommend asking about skin care products that can help you maintain your results between treatments. We suggest booking your next dermaplaning treatment in 4-6 weeks.
Our facial and dermaplaning treatment combination is an excellent option for special events as it is gentle on the skin and immediately enhances skin vitality, resulting in a youthful appearance.
To maintain the benefits of this treatment, we suggest using professional products for daily cleansing, eye cream, skin serum, moisturizing cream, and SPF. By following a regular spa treatment and proper home care routine, your skin will regain its natural radiance, leaving it glowing, luminous, and revitalized.
For optimal results, we recommend booking your next session in 4-6 weeks.

Congratulations on your dermaplaning treatment! Dermaplaning is an excellent anti-aging treatment that provides both immediate and cumulative results with each facial you receive. Dermaplaning is a physical form of exfoliation that has removed dead skin cells and vellus hair from the surface of your skin. Your face should feel softer than ever and look brighter and more youthful. Be sure to take care of your skin following dermaplaning or other anti-aging treatments. Following these instructions will maintain your results longer and help you avoid complications.
Cleanse: Use a gentle cleanser and warm, not hot, water. Splash water on your face. Do not use abrasive cleansers, wash clothes, Clarisonic, or hot shower spray for the first 24-48 hours. Do not use cleansers, serums or spot treatments containing retinol, salicylic acid or Benzoyl Peroxide (BPO) for 5 days following treatment.
Tone: Hydrating and brightening toners applied with a cotton round will penetrate deeper into the skin. If you are sensitive, try all products on a small area before applying a full face. Serums: Active ingredients in serums penetrate much better now, so you’ll see quicker results. Ask your esthetician about the right serum(s) for your skin.
Please do not use Retin-A for 5 days pre and post dermaplaning. For darker skin tones: use a brightening serum to reduce any risk of PIH.
Moisturizer: Choose a hydrating moisturizer and apply twice daily. It’s common for skin to feel tight but dewy to the touch. This is good and will only last a short time. Moisturizer locks in skin’s hydration with the added absorption of its active ingredients. For darker skin tones: use a 1% hydrocortisone cream for 5 days following treatment to calm inflammation and reduce any risk of PIH. SPF: Your skin is more vulnerable to UV rays after exfoliation.
SPF is essential to protect your skin - even on cloudy days when UVA (aging) rays are present. Makeup: Makeup can irritate skin after dermaplaning. Bacteria, alcohols, colorants and fragrance are all irritants that can cause contact dermatitis. Be sure to clean your makeup brushes, replace your sponges and apply clean (new) makeup to minimize risks. We recommend mineral makeup for its purity and non-comedogenic properties.
DO: Avoid sun exposure as much as possible. If you must be in the sun, apply and reapply SPF every 2 hours, wear a hat and seek shade.
DO: Delay exposure to excessive heat, heavy workouts, steam rooms and saunas for 24-48 hours post treatment.
DO: Wait 7 days before having any facial waxing done. Waxing may be done prior to dermaplaning. The esthetician will only dermaplane up to the waxing border so as not to over stress your skin.
DO: Schedule your appointments 4 weeks apart to optimize results.
DO: Call your aesthetician with both compliments and concerns.
DO: Enjoy your new look.
All PIH risk clients must continue using their Brightening System. Add a Post-Peel Balm or Cream to their regime for 5 days following treatment. Look for ingredient lists that include 1%
IS IT SAFE? It is extremely safe when performed by a professionally trained professional utilizing DermaplanePro methods and tools.
ONCE THE VELLUS HAIR IS REMOVED WILL IT GROW BACK THICKER? No, this is physiologically impossible. The soft, fine vellus hair will grow back slowly - usually in about 4 weeks. There are two types of hair that grow on our bodies: 1. Vellus hair is the thin, fine, soft hair that typically covers the entire body. 2. Terminal hair is the coarse hair that grows on the head, face in men, underarms, legs and pubic areas. Dermaplaning, waxing, tweezing or any other depilatory form of hair removal, cannot alter the type of hair grown in any given area.
CAN DERMAPLANING CAUSE THE SKIN TO BLEED? Not if done properly. If done improperly, excessive scraping, nicks and cuts can occur which can cause bleeding. This is why it is very important to professionals that have been trained and certified to perform the service.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED? Dermaplaning is performed on the face and sides of the neck. You should not dermaplane the eyelids, throat or chest.
HOW OFTEN CAN THIS PROCEDURE BE PERFORMED? Dermaplaning can be performed every 4 weeks. Treating the skin in this manner actually removes about 2 to 3 weeks worth of dead skin cells. The skin completes its normal skin cycle in approximately 28 days.
CAN DERMAPLANING BE PERFORMED WITH A CHEMICAL PEEL? Yes. Dermaplaning is an excellent way to prepare the skin for a chemical peel. However, I do not offer Chemical Peels at this time. I do offer a premium facial treatment that Dermaplaning can be included.
DOES THE SKIN ACTUALLY PEEL FROM DERMAPLANING? No. When dermaplaning is performed as a preparation for a chemical peel, the visible exfoliation that the client sees will be a result of the peel solution used in the treatment.
WHO CAN BE TREATED? All skin types can benefit from dermaplaning. Men can be dermaplaned on non-beard areas only.
WHO CANNOT BE TREATED? Clients with active acne outbreaks should not be treated until lesions are healed. Dermaplaning is great for diminishing acne scars but should not be performed during active outbreaks. Clients with bleeding disorders or difficulty clotting should not be treated. Clients with diabetes, not under control by diet or medication, should not be treated. Clients undergoing cancer treatment should not be treated. Clients with active cold sores will need to be rescheduled, and if prone to cold sores should begin to premedicate 24 hours prior to receiving a service. Clients with darker skin tones need 2-3 weeks pre-treatment with melanin suppressing home care products and sunscreen.
CAN I WAX AND DERMAPLANE IN THE SAME APPOINTMENT? Yes. We recommend waxing first. Then dermaplane right up to where you left off waxing. We do not dermaplane over newly waxed areas.
CAN I BE DERMAPLANED THE DAY OF MY WEDDING OR BIG EVENT? We recommend dermaplaning several days before a big event - especially brides. If this is the first time a client is being dermaplaned, this is even more important in case she does have a reaction to either dermaplaning or a product used on her skin during or following treatment.
